The club’s concerns were not just limited to football, basketball and
volleyball but rather included handball and that is before the establishment
of the federation. In the sixties the consecutive administrations in the
Qadsia club found out that this game needs to have a federation, so the
first meeting regarding the constitutional committee of this federation was
held in the presence of the clubs’ representatives.
Regarding the handball game history in the club, it was exercised by some
trainers of other games some of which are Hanafi Nassar, Mouhamad Hlaiyl,
Mahmoud Atef, Fathi Wassel in addition to a number of players such as Saed
al Khalaf, the late Saed Saleh, Nasser al Zankwi, Abdullah al Houdaibi,
Khalil Baalbaki, Mouhamad Houmaidi, Ismail al Jazaf, Khoder Haji, Saadoun
Khalaf, Elias Haji, Freih al Warrad, the late Nasser al Ouraifi, Youssef al
Saker, Nimtallah,, Mahmoud al Housseinan, Hamad Aliyar and Khaled al
Ouraifan.
The players exercised their first activity in an asphalt and open
playground. The consecutive administrations believed that a specialized
trainer must be assigned in order to upgrade the level of this game.
For that reason a contract was signed with an Egyptian trainer Hanafi Nassar
in order for the latter to train the team.
In its first participation in the federation competition, the club has faced
some problems due to its loss of some important members in the team. The
new team passed through a transitional period due to the fact that the
latter includes a number of new members, which have recently joined the
club. This is why the team had dropped to the second place. In the first
decade the trainers Hanafi Nassar, Mahmoud Abed Alaati, Abed al Latif alDib
and Eid Saleh trained the teams in the club.
The starting off: Due to the problems that it faced in the first decade, the
board of directors intensified its efforts in the second decade in order to
upgrade the technical level of the first team and that is by taking care of
the youth teams in order for the latter to be able to fulfill the club’s
dreams and this is what actually happened, the youth teams under 17 and 20 were able
to win more than one championship during that period. There is no doubt
that the youth teams played a big role in sponsoring the first team, this
what lead the latter to win the championship tournament and the federation
cup for the season 79\80. This is considered a big accomplishment
considering that the team had dropped two times to the second place one in
the first decade and the other at the beginning of the second decade. The
high concerns of the board of directors and the good planning were fruitful
in a way that they lead to the birth of some new accomplishments.
The championships: The prior Boards’ concerns in the seventies mainly
stressed on the youth teams. The latter won good positions in order to
prove the development of the game’s level in the club, which in turn had a
great effect on the developments in Kuwait.
The third decade is the golden era for the handball games were the teams had
achieved great results during that period.
During the third decade the trainers that trained these teams were Almajri
Yanoush, Iffat Rashad, the national trainer Mouhamad al Kassar, Abed al
Wahab bin Azar and Salah Souwaidan.
During the second decade Sourour Salem was the director of this team and his
assistants were Abass Dashti, Mouhamad AL Maatouk, Faraj Bachir, Yacoub al
Kharass and Abdallah Alyatama.
